BlueBay Popups seem to have disappeared?
The Service Desk will on occasion receive reports that the BlueBay alert popup is not appearing for the user, despite the patient having outstanding indicators. This problem is often reported by users with a multiple monitor setup, where they extend their desktops using a second or third monitor.
The alert window seems to launch but remains hidden from view.
Why does this happen?
Every square inch of your monitor is assigned a specific set of coordinates (like a map, X & Y Axis) that computer programs use when generating windows or images to display on your screen. On occasion programs can generate coordinates which are incorrect, sending the alert popup somewhere outside the standard coordinates for your monitor(s). If you imagine a twin monitor setup, each monitor has a specific set of coordinates, each one with coordinates that extend into the next monitor. What sometimes happens, is the coordinates assigned to the BlueBay Popup extend out too far in one direction, essentially the software tries to generate the popup too far over one side, generating the window off the screen. I have used the below graphic to help illustrate where the window tries to form.
Fixing the problem
The user can follow this basic instruction set, which will reset the alert window allowing it to generate in its default position.
- Sign into your Clinical System (ensure no patient is loaded)
- Right Click the BlueBay Lightbulb icon
- Left Click Settings
- Click ‘Reset Position‘ which is located at the top left edge of the window
Once the position of the alert window is reset, users can again change its location and size. The alert popup is designed to be malleable which allows staff to change how and where alerts are generated. Should using the “Reset Position” button not result in the popups reappearance please contact the Service Desk on 0845 521 1241 where our staff will be happy to investigate further.
